Choosing the Perfect Ladies Wedding Hat
Ladies Wedding Hats are one of the most important touches on the perfect outfit for that perfect event. Whether it is a formal or informal occasion, you can choose the perfect ladies wedding hat for your personal style.
Some of Great Britain’s most important style icons used the ladies hat to dazzle and shine. From Princess Diana to the Duchess of York, the United Kingdom’s finest represented their personal style with accessories such as hats and fascinators. Ladies wedding hats (and those also used for informal events) are the epitome of femininity, sophistication and grace.
We all know that a wedding day is a day where people first and foremost have fun, dress up and enjoy this brilliant day of love and romance. Of course, selecting the right wedding outfit, and the all important ladies wedding hat will contribute to an even better wedding experience. One thing’s for sure though, it’s the bride’s special day day, so you can’t be all that dressy. One you you can do though is enjoy your day in style with a most fancy wedding hat!
There are a number of factors you can take into consideration before choosing which bridal hat to go with though. Let’s look at these:
Investigate the Venue
Of course, ask the wedding planner or someone involved in the process if the wedding will take place inside or outside. The type of wedding venue will have a bearing on the type of hat you’ll choose. Above all, you’ll want to remain calm and collected, and that means keeping the wind out of your hair and the sun out of your eyes.
Are you out there to make a fashion statement? If so, go with the broadest rim you can find, but if you’re planning on doing a spot of dancing, smaller rims will make it less awkward. You can always remove the hat to touch up your hair though so if you’ve found a broad-rimmed hat you love, don’t worry about it too much and go with your heart.
Generally, it makes sense to go with a wedding hat that matches the overall theme of the wedding, so check your invitation to see if there is any specific theme to the big day.
Challenge Yourself
If you’re looking for a hat that you’re going to be wearing everyday of the week, then of course comfort is your number one priority. Remember though that these days don’t come round too often; challenge yourself and make the most of this chance to really dress elegantly.
If the wedding is taking place in the evening, I recommend going for a hat with a net veil, or even a set of marabou feathers. Hats that dip over one eye are also extremely sexy and seductive and fit right into an evening wedding theme.
If you’re looking for that age-flatteering look (as most women are!) go for something huge and floppy. Trust me, it works! If you’re in formal or tailored attire I’d recommend wearing a stiff brimmed wedding hat though.
Word of advice – don’t wear a huge white hat. White is for the bride and you don’t want to outshine her, and besides, there are tons of beautiful colours of wedding hats out there to choose from.
Enjoy!
